Dr. Raj is Assistant Professor in the department of immunology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He is the Director of Advanced Microarray, Genomics & Microbiome Sequencing Facility. He is a human geneticist by doctoral training and have over decade of experience in next generation sequencing (NGS) technology. Dr. Raj has done extensive work on genetic basis of autoimmunity and pathogen genomics. Dr. Raj routinely provides consultation for sample preparation to data analysis on mammalian and microbial genomics projects. Dr. Raj’s laboratory performs active research on bloodstream infections and microbiome diversity in young children. His laboratory is working on developing NGS based assays for rapid diagnosis of pediatric infectious diseases.

Our facility is one of the best equipped core facilities in north Texas. 100% of our expenses are paid from our core service revenue. Our team is comprised of 13 experts who have years of experience in the area of protein arrays, SNP genotyping, human/mouse/rat genome sequencing , bulk-RNA sequencing, pathogen genomics, transcriptomics and single cell sequencing. Beside Illumina sequencing, our facility also offers long-read sequencing on Oxford Nanopore platforms. Our mission is to support and boost innovations and discoveries in biomedical research at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
